Janaye Brown
Janaye Brown (she/her) (b. San Jose, California; based in Berlin, Germany) makes work that explores perceptions of time, fragmented narratives and the unseen. She has exhibited at venues including New York City’s Studio Museum Harlem, Wassaic Project, Wassaic, NY, Anthology Film Archives, New York, NY, The Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada and Nazarian/Curcio in Los Angeles. Residencies include the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Madison, ME; Ballroom Marfa, Marfa, TX; the Bruce High Quality Foundation University, New York, NY and Fiskars AiR, Fiskars, Finland among others. Brown received an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and her BA in Cinematic Arts and Technology from California State University Monterey Bay in 2010.
